It’s a conversation just about anyone who has ever worked in the print industry knows by heart:
Customer: “I won’t need to to pay the art prep charge because I have camera ready artwork.”
Me: “Awesome, just email me those files and we’ll get that proof going.”
Customer: “Well, I can’t email it. It’s a printout. And I don’t think I can fax it, because the taped on parts will probably get caught in the fax machine. Maybe I can take a picture of it and text it to you.”
My job description is essentially to take files marked “camera ready” or “final” and make that true.
It’s all in a days work. Redrawing logos, matching typefaces, scouring the web looking for PDFs with embedded EPS files.
If identifying typefaces from blurry jpegs was a super power, I’d have my own cape!
Tools Used: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat.
